Michele Théberge

 

 Michelle Théberge

Born in Brooklyn, and based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Michele Théberge’s work employs drawing, painting, installation and interactive projects to explore the connections between the material and immaterial worlds and to create an environment of calm and respite. Based in the She is known for the quiet, meditative quality of her work based on long standing meditation practice and deep study of nature through native traditions. Constructed from delicate materials such as paper, paint, fabric, mylar, foil and pins, they have been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, including the Museum of Kyoto, Sharjah Art Museum (United Arab Emirates), the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Folk Art and Montblanc Gallery, Hong Kong. She has been an affiliate artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts and a resident artist at the Morris Graves Foundation in Arcata, California and at In Cahoots Press in Petaluma, California. She has been the recipient of two grants from the Center for Cultural Innovation and created public commission including three recent paintings for UCSF Precision Cancer Medical Center.
